That’s when the journey of ‘Cyber Brigade’ began, where the students of Cyber Brigade learn more than just Cyber Safety. From Personality development to presentation skills that prepare them for the future. Every year, this squad organizes ’Cyber Safety’ sessions in the school and emphasizes upon different safety threats concerning the privacy of users across the web. Safety tips, precautions and basic identification techniques are shared to make students aware about what can threaten their devices or data online and how to avoid such risks. Similar initiatives are conducted by the brigade on related themes. Here, the cyber enthusiasts learn, collaborate and encourage each other to be persistent and dedicated. Interesting discussions, innovative ideas and a fire to keep going makes them even more admirable. They together try to solve real world problems for a better future for all. From Artificial Intelligence I to Cyber Security, each field of technology has an ambitious aspirant here. Having different strengths and contrasting personalities, they empower one another. This Cyber Brigade is not just a squad but a family.

Month - January

 

*🔐 Spreading Cyber Awareness during a Data Privacy Month! 📢*  

January is observed as *Data Privacy Month, and to raise awareness, our **Cyber Brigade students* conducted an interactive session for *Class 7* on *January 29, 2025*. The session focused on essential topics like data privacy, creating strong passwords, precautions while installing apps, combating viruses, and identifying fake websites.  

 

To make learning more engaging, the students were made to participate in a fun activity called *"Cyber Scramble,"* where they solved jumbled cyber safety-related words that had been discussed during the session. The enthusiasm and active participation made the session both informative and enjoyable!

 

 

 

 

 

Month - October 

 

As part of *October Cyber Security Awareness Month, Class 8 students attended an engaging **Cyber Safety Awareness Session* led by the *Cyber Police, Gurugram*. The session covered key topics such as understanding cybercrime, types of offenses, and the dos and don’ts of safe online behavior. The officers emphasized the importance of maintaining a secure, single account and introduced the concept of "digital arrest" for unlawful online activities. Social media safety was also highlighted, teaching students how to navigate platforms responsibly.

 

The session concluded with a lively Q&A, where students eagerly participated and had their queries answered. This interactive event was a key part of the school's Cyber Security Awareness Month, leaving students better equipped to stay safe and responsible in the digital world.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Month - September 

 

On 30th September 2024, the School Cyber Brigade organized an informative cyber safety session for Class 6 students, followed by an exhilarating *Cyber Hot Air Balloon Challenge*. The session covered crucial topics such as general internet safety precautions, the importance of using strong passwords, understanding the dangers of cyberbullying, and the role of viruses and antiviruses in protecting devices. Students also gained valuable insights into avoiding plagiarism and maintaining digital integrity. 

 

The response from the students was overwhelmingly positive—they actively participated in discussions, asked insightful questions, and shared their own experiences with digital safety. Many students expressed how the session helped them understand the real-life consequences of unsafe online behavior. The *Cyber Hot Air Balloon Challenge* added an extra touch of excitement, making it a day filled with learning, engagement, and fun.

 

 

 

 

 

Month- August 

 

 

📢Our School’s Cyber Brigade took the lead in enhancing digital safety by conducting a comprehensive Cyber Safety Awareness session for Class 9 on August 8, 2024. The session was designed to equip students with the knowledge they need to navigate the digital world safely.

 

The Cyber Brigade team highlighted some of the most pressing cyber threats today, such as digital arrest, deep fakes, identity theft, and Trojan horses. Using real-life examples, they made these complex topics relatable and easy to understand. The students were highly engaged and found the session both interesting and eye-opening.

 

To reinforce their learning, students were challenged with a Cyber Maze, a fun and interactive activity that allowed them to assess their understanding of the session’s content. This hands-on approach helped solidify their grasp of the material.

 

The session wrapped up with crucial safety tips on how to protect themselves from these threats, along with information on a helpline number to report any suspicious activity or fraud. The initiative not only raised awareness but also empowered students to take control of their online safety. 🛡️✨

CYBER AWARENESS SESSION MONTH - OCTOBER

 

The "Cyber Ladder Chase" activity, organized by students of the School Cyber Safety Council, took place at DAV Public School, Sector 10A, Gurugram, on 21st November 2023. Designed for fourth and fifth-grade classes, the event aimed to enrich students' understanding of critical cyber safety principles.

 

Covering robust password importance, repercussions of excessive screen time, differentiation between safe and unsafe websites, and advocating efficient mobile phone use, the activity explored virus comprehension and stressed the significance of antivirus software. The session seamlessly blended education with enjoyment, employing a classic snakes and ladders game with a contemporary twist.

 

Active participation of the students in the event ensured an wonderful learning experience for all.

 

     

 

 

 

 

    

 

 

A session on Cyber Awareness was conducted for classes XI and XII on 17th October 2023 by Ms. Isha Arora, an alumna of the school who is presently working with a very reputed organization, KPMG. She made the students aware of  the threats associated with  cyber security breaches. She spoke about the necessity to log out of accounts where we log in, setting strong passwords and keeping them secure, avoid saving passwords to various accounts on phones, carefully checking URLs before clicking on them, and be aware of Phishing and spams and unsubscribing from useless  or unreliable websites that send spam mails. She further stressed on allowing acess only to trusted websites and check for reliablity before using or signing in to any website. Every action on the internet leaves digital footprints. Awareness and alertness are very important to prevent unsolicited security breaches.

October marks the Global celebration of Cyber Security Awareness Month, it serves as a poignant reminder that safeguarding our digital lives is not merely a choice but a collective responsibility we all bear.

 

We are thrilled to share that Special morning assemblies are being held on the given theme across the departments - primary to senior from 3 October 2023 onwards when students took a pledge to follow proper netiquette and cyber safety norms to stay secure from potential cyber crimes.

 

The Cyber Brigade students are conducting special awareness sessions and activities for classes VI-XII and have emerged as Cyber Safety Champions.

 

They have been sharing crucial cyber safety tips, imparting valuable knowledge to the students in these sessions.

The allure of online social media and games has significantly compromised system security. Thus, it is imperative to educate students against sharing personal and financial data online, and to familiarize them with identifying malicious applications. 

 

In light of this, the school's Cyber Safety Council orchestrated an engaging "Cyber Seat Shuffling" event for 10th graders. Through this game, students gained insights into various cyber terms and threats, actively participating and relishing the experience.

CYBER AWARENESS SESSION July 2023

In today's digital age, where information is readily accessible with just a few clicks, it is essential to approach the online world with a critical mind-set.

The School Cyber Safety Council conducted an engaging awareness session on the same for the VII grade students, focusing on safe and unsafe practices online. The session was designed to captivate the students' attention and foster their instincts within the cyber world, resulting in a high level of engagement. The primary objective was to equip the learners with knowledge about common online behaviors individuals tend to engage in on a daily basis, be it blindly forwarding messages, accepting friend request from strangers, or downloading content without verifying credibility, and how to circumvent their way around such menaces, if need be. As a result of this session, the learners imbibed some valuable insights, and will surely be benefited greatly, once they embark upon their voyages into the online world, in the most secure ways possible.

This enables students to use technology extensively for creating and sharing information. With this, students are exposed to new cyber risks and can become vulnerable to bullying, phishing attacks and should be sensitized about the safe usage of the cyber world. To promote internet safety awareness, Cyber Brigade at D.A.V Public School, Sector-14, Gurugram, has a vision to promote knowledge on cyber threats and safety rules. These cyber warriors equip students with the knowledge of preventive and defensive safety measures which should be taken while embracing and exposing self to new technologies. The aim of the DAV Cyber Brigade is to sensitize students about responsible online behavior, their rights, freedoms and responsibilities along with basic awareness about personal security and safety. The objective of the cyber brigade is to make students more aware, better informed and responsible in navigating cyberspace.
